Our 1st anniversary

Our weekend getaway in Gatlinburg, Tennessee felt like a second honeymoon!

We wanted to keep things fairly simple for our anniversary trip, but still have a mini vacation. We posed a question on Facebook asking where we should go, and Gatlinburg was the top answer! As the planner that I normally am, I wanted to have everything planned for the trip, however the snowy forecast scared the mess out of me. Soo I scratched any plans that I had for us, and just hoped that we’d be able to at least eat (haha I for real thought we were going to be stranded). Though it did snow, we weren’t trapped at all! We literally just went with the flow for the entire weekend and approached each day with spontaneity, while casually deciding what we wanted to do moment by moment within our budget. It was the best way we could have went about the trip, and we couldn’t be more grateful. This weekend was by far one of my favorite weekends with Justin.

This was my first trip bringing my camera with me to intentionally capture moments and visually relive our experience. So of course I’d forget to actually take pictures the first day we were there (which is when we had most of our adventures at Ripley attractions and explored shops and stores)—haha. So I captured what I was able to on our chill day, which was really just hanging out in this BEAUTIFUL airbnb and capturing a few shots outside of one of the most stylish Mellow Mushrooms. What wasn’t captured, were the amazing faith-based/Gospel conversations we got to have with some of the people we met in Gatlinburg, one couple we even hung out with for several hours while they were working their storefront!

Needless to say, this trip was so wonderful for our marriage, and we’re already talking about going back.

*sidenote—there’s a few selfies Justin and I took included below—please excuse my shirt rising in a couple of the photos, my husband likes to rub my back when he hugs me haha. :)
